What’s new from MyEducator this fall? We are always working on publishing new online learning resources and updating older resources to include new technology and research. While you may be enjoying time off from teaching during the summer, now is a great time to update your learning resources to be prepared for the road ahead.

Major Themes for Fall 2024

We’ve noticed three major areas of focus for this upcoming school year:

  1. Applications of Excel for business. MyEducator’s Excel add-in is a powerful way to teach Excel skills in the live Excel environment in a variety of different disciples, and students find that Excel is essential for business professionals.
  2. Responsible use of artificial intelligence tools. AI has immense potential to change the way we learn and work, and it is important to develop ways to use AI ethically.
  3. Approaching sustainability and ESG from a business perspective. Minor updates to various learning resources reflect a heightened focus on corporate responsibility.

New Learning Resources for Fall 2024

With these three themes in mind, let’s take a look at what’s new for fall 2024:

1. Financial Accounting Practice Sets with Excel

Financial Accounting Practice Sets with Excel is designed using the MyEducator Excel add-in for instant auto-grading with detailed feedback for students. It provides an overview of highly valuable Excel skills for financial accounting functions and follows with practice sets for hands-on application. From accounting basics to transaction analysis, students will gain practical experience with Excel for financial accounting functions.

A companion resource featuring Managerial Accounting Practice Sets with Excel is currently in development.

2. Excel Case Studies

The Excel Case Studies resource may be used as a module or a supplement to a course using Excel. These case studies can be used for additional practice, homework, or exam questions. Case studies start at the basics, including charting, and cover advanced topics, such as modeling business processes and PivotTables. The table of contents lists the individual assessments by discipline, business, Excel competency, and coverage.

3. Data Mining for the Masses—5th edition

While this edition was completed in early 2024, it is an important revision to the Data Mining for the Masses textbook since this resource now includes application in Python in addition to AI Studio (formerly RapidMiner) and R. The content is modularized to allow instructors to select the content coverage and software applications needed for their course. Updated examples, exercises, and knowledge checks ensure that the content is interesting and relevant to students.

4. Business Computing and Artificial Intelligence

This resource provides a basic introduction to business computing concepts and information technology and prepares students for a rapidly evolving business environment. AI is already changing the way we learn, teach, and work. This resource helps students become informed about the world of technology and explore ways to adapt and evolve alongside AI to ensure a more harmonious integration into the workforce.

5. Introduction to Information Systems with AI

This major revision of our Introduction to Information Systems text explores how to leverage AI in the world of information systems. New assessments and updated content reflect the ever-changing world of information systems and technology. This edition also includes multiple paths for learning programming, through either Python or VBA.

6. Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management:
