The one constant in this world is change, and the past few years have certainly brought a lot of change to the world of educational technology ! New developments in artificial intelligence (AI) have brought both challenges and innovations to the workplace and education. Several MyEducator authors have incorporated new content about AI and other emerging technologies in their learning resources to introduce students to the effective and ethical use of AI in their field of study.  Since MyEducator makes it easy for authors to quickly update existing learning resources, we can ensure our resources stay up to date with material that is current and relevant for today’s students.

Here is a list of courses that have recently been updated to include information about artificial intelligence.

Marketing Fundamentals

The authors of the Marketing Fundamentals resource have added a new chapter: “Marketing with AI.” This chapter defines smart marketing and discusses how AI can assist marketers with small problems (repetitive tasks) and bigger problems (predictive analytics and scenario generation). It also describes the different types of AI and useful AI tools for marketing professionals.

Business Analytics

Both the Business Analytics and SQL Essentials and Business Analytics and Machine Learning versions of this text have been updated with a new chapter: “AI in Business.” This chapter dives deep into the definition of artificial intelligence and explores the different types and subsets of AI. It also touches on how different AI technologies are trained and considers the ethics of AI.

Business Computing and Artificial Intelligence

This resource is an updated version of Applied Business Computing Concepts. It incorporates connections to artificial intelligence throughout the text. It also includes a new chapter: “AI in Business.” Readers will learn about how AI is used in business, including limitations, applications in various industries (such as education, health care, and home automation), and what the future of AI may look like.

Introduction to Information Systems

This learning resource has a chapter dedicated to AI titled “Concepts: Artificial Intelligence,” but it also incorporates artificial intelligence throughout the text. First, the authors actively encourage students to use AI throughout the course—for homework, projects, and more. Second, the resource itself incorporate AI features to enhance student learning. The resource includes an innovative AI chatbot specifically trained on the text and designed to act as a virtual TA (learn more about it in “MyEducator’s AI-Powered Teaching Assistant Bot: Revolutionizing Education”). Additionally, there are buttons at the top of each page that use AI to generate a section summary, practice quizzes, or a study guide.

The Future of Work

Discussions of artificial intelligence are found throughout this resource.  Some of the topics this resource touches on are the growth of AI in various industries, how to harness AI, current and future development, and human collaboration with AI. To learn more about this resource, read “Welcoming The Future of Work to the Catalog.”
